The Dalits are not permitted to sit or stand near the upper crust. When upper-class individuals sit in chairs, Dalits are forced to sit on the floor. They are even required to keep their utensils separate; they are not permitted to use the water where the high-class ladies come to collect.
The Dalits were barred from entering the temple and worshipping the deity. Similarly, they were excluded from hospitals; no matter how ill a Dalit caste member was, he or she would die.
They were denied access to any public transportation and were not allowed to enter any public spaces.
In a city, the issue of untouchability is seldom seen. People from different groups collaborated and shared the flat here. The government has enacted a number of legislation that benefit Dalit households.
There is a special category for them to apply for admission to schools and universities, as well as jobs in the public and private sectors. Urban civilization is losing its untouchability.
When it comes to distant or undeveloped areas, people still adhere to their traditions and beliefs. They refuse to accept the government’s reforms, which include giving Dalits equal status.
If an ancestor worked in sanitary cleaning, no matter how successful their new generation achieves as an officer, they would still suffer untouchability as a result of their ancestor’s profession.
