The University of the Philippines (UP) lands a spot in the top 100 universities in the world in the field of development studies according to an international survey.
UP was included among the 11 universities in Asia that made it in the 2015 QS Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings. It is also one of only four ASEAN universities included in the list.
The survey also revealed that UP ranked highly in seven other subjects, thereby making it an elite institution.
More than 3,000 universities were evaluated by the said survey and only 894 representatives from 60 countries were ranked.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks the world’s top universities in individual subject areas. It covers 36 subjects in total. The survey measures three components namely the academic and employer reputation of the school, as well as its academic research impact.
